As a Learning support worker, you will be leading a group to participate in a variety of activities, for example: cooking; drama; dance; sports and fitness; science experiments; photography projects; arts and crafts; literacy and numeracy; games; swimming; bowling; day trips; enterprises; and many more. The activities are based at our centre and also out in the community. We also provide supported work experience at our cafe and charity shop called Cups and Saucers.

Another aspect of the role is to provide 1:1 outreach support outside of our day service opening hours. In the role you may be working alongside other colleagues or lone working (full training and shadowing will be provided during the induction period before you do lone working).
We are looking for someone who is assertive enough to lead and motivate their group. A friendly person with a sense of humour, who is able to make the activities informative as well as fun. A professional person who understands personal boundaries and who is motivated to provide opportunities for adults with LD to reach their full potential.

We provide a supportive environment for our employees with an emphasis on personal development and training. This role is varied with every day being different to the next. You can be on your feet a lot of the time, so please bear this in mind when considering the role.
We strongly recommend you check out our Instagram and Facebook accounts to get a feel for what it is like to work at Reddi Support. Search "Reddi Support" and "Cups and Saucers Cafe and Shop".
Pay: starting at £13.50 p/hr.
Hours: 35 per week.
Working hours are generally between 8.45am - 5.30pm. However, you will be required to attend staff meetings, training, and social events outside of these hours. Notice will be provided for this.
Days: Monday to Saturday.
You will work 5 days a week spread over the 6 days. If you work a Saturday, you will be given a day off during the week so that you only work a total of 5 days.
Your hours will be provided on a monthly rota basis.
Please note that the number of Saturdays you will be required to work will vary from month to month - it could be as few as 0 or as many as 2. There is flexibility and as a Company we strive for a good work-life balance for our team. If you can be flexible with us, we will be flexible and accommodating with you.

We also offer at least 2 residential holidays per year to our service users. These are usually 4 night breaks to Butlin's or similar resort (these may, on occasion, include weekends). Alongside other colleagues, you will be required to support service users on this short break/holiday. We require the candidate to be willing to participate in at least one of these holidays per year. You will, of course, be paid for all of the additional hours that you will be supporting.

Full induction and training provided. Adult workforce DBS check is essential (cost initially met by employee and reimbursed after 12 weeks of successful employment) and at least 2 satisfactory employment references are also required.

5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata incl. bank holidays.
Extra day off for your birthday* (*subject to terms).
