Support Worker required:


Unique opportunity to join a small but growing independent day opportunities service based in Redditch.  This role is being advertised due to growing demand.

  • Support worker required Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays to support adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities to participate in a range of activities from Cooking, Art and Craft, Zumba, day trips, swimming, gym, enterprise both in the community and at our base in Redditch.

  • The role will involve supporting groups and on a 1:1 basis.

  • Minimum 6 months experience supporting adults with LD or relevant qualifications in a related field. 

  • Experience supporting people with Autism an advantage.

  • Good cooking skills are required.

  • Induction and extensive training provided.  DBS check required- cost met by employee and reimbursed after 6 weeks. 

  • At least two references are required.

  • Part time role 18-26 hours approx.  Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.15am - 3.45pm/6pm plus occasional overtime.  This could become a full time role in the future if the candidate desires.

  • Some flexibility is required.  Willingness to do additional days to cover for other staff's holiday is desirable.  Willingness to work occasional evenings or a Saturday to provide occasional and on-going support for social outings is required.

  • We also offer biannual residential trips/short breaks and require our staff to be open to working this - ample notice of this will be provided.

  • Car driver and willingness to use car for work purposes is desirable but not essential.

Male Support Worker required in Bromsgrove:

  • Support Worker required to support a young man with mild LD and Autism to attend the gym and to access social and recreational activities.

  • Driver and own vehicle essential due to location (Stoke Prior area).

  • One or two early evenings per week and occasional Saturdays - hours can be flexible to suit candidate but as the young man attends college most hours will be evenings (after 5pm) and weekends- the number of hours are negotiable and can vary as long as they are on a regular basis.

  • This role would suit a college or uni student or someone who works already and is looking for extra hours.

  • Experience not essential as full training and induction provided.

  • The main requirements are that the person has an outgoing personality, is patient, kind, reliable and responsible.
